Imitation Stanton's

Has anyone ever tried the imitation Stanton 500AL stylus'? I was wondering what the quality is like in comparison to the real thing..

I use to buy my 'copy' stanton's from a shop called Tandy for abour £8 each - this is going back a few years....think they have gone bust. Also I short on cash those days so needs must and all that.

To be honest I could not really tell the difference.....and as they were only used in the bedroom they did not really need to be 'night club' quality.

I admit I don't buy copies anymore - no reason other than I have more cash in my back pocket so I can buy a technically better cartirdge - The Oforton.

HMV sell some for £9.99, the bloke told me don't bother there crap, sound poor and last a third of time of real ones, so you might as well buy £19.99 genuine ones, I'm in same position at mo deciding what to buy next.

I looked on kelkoo.co.uk and found two blue ortofon concordes for £90 including postage.. which i'm presently considering, they are normally £55 to £70 each in hi fi shops

i was checking his other prices for postage and he charges £35 for post to eurpoe, probably only cost £1.50.mad

dont know m8 got spare stylus when i bought concordes so havent bought any for years
